Nominations are invited for the annual elections for LDMF Executive Offices.
The nomination form can be downloaded in Microsoft Word (DOC) format. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday 7th November 2006.

Motion to 2005 Conference: Strategic development of Muslims Forum
- Conference Notes:
- 1) The Muslims Forum was set up 18 months ago. It is an affiliated group like many other groups in the Party with the specific aim to create better governance for the British Muslims. It continuously assesses its development and its future direction. Its organisational aim is to acquire recognition in the Party’s Constitution as a formal organisation known as an Associated Organisation.
- Conference believes
- 2) That to achieve the formal Associated Organisation, the Forum must achieve:
- a)An acceptable constitution and evidence of a working executive committee.
- b)Evidence of achieving the greater objectives of the Party and the Forum in terms of Policy development and making Lib Dem Party as a good political home for British Muslims. And evidence of delivering on goals on policy and campaigning.
- c)Forum must achieve a membership size of approx 250.
- Conference Calls for
- 3)The Forum should constantly work to retain a firm focus on its impact of raising Issues, developing appropriate Policy and influencing the Liberal Democrat and Government Policy.
- 4)The Forum should engage with Local Parties in working with them to recruit more Muslim members to the Party on the one hand and work with the Local and Regional Party Officers on sensitive issues surrounding Muslim culture and recruitment of large families into the Party membership.
- 5)Everyone in the Forum should be encourage to help develop Forum’s membership in order to reach the target membership of 250 by the end of 2006.
